Mobile app teaches boaters how to be safe on the water

West Virginia’s Division of Natural Resources (DNR) is embracing a new mobile initiative to get boaters licensed for the summer.

As another alternative to its previous computer-based eLearning development, the DNR is now using mobile app development to administer necessary educational materials residents must complete in order to take boating license exams. Boat-ed.com, the site hosting this new training module, is available on both mobile phones and PCs. Additionally, the DNR will maintain in-class sessions for interested participants.

“With half of all adults in the U.S. now owning smartphones or tablets, and with e-readers gaining popularity, it makes sense for boat-ed.com to be mobile ready,” said Edward Cossette, one of the mobile app’s developers. “The pages…are automatically resized according to the device used, from smartphone to internet TV and everything in between.”

The training is available to boaters in 42 other participating states as well, including Florida, Maine, Rhode Island and Oregon. The mobile development training tool shows that flexible, portable teaching can be cost-effective and serviceable for a broad spectrum of business needs.

CSE Software Inc. can develop the training you need for boaters and any other type of training compliance your organization needs. Deploy via PC, Internet or any mobile device. Then train and educate your audience anytime, day or night.
